Stories From Zambia

It All Starts with a Shoebox
“I am Pastor Malumo of The Living Word Christian Church in Senanga district. I want to give a testimony of what God has done to our church through the shoebox gifts we distributed. Our children in church invited other children who do not go to any church. After the distribution, there was a massive numerical increase in the children’s church, and little did we realize, that the same children had influenced their parents to start coming to church. Our membership grew from 140 to more than 200. The children’s church increased from 65 to 103. This is an increase that had never happened in such a short period. We thank God for this tool in sharing the Gospel in our community. I pray that you will continue to do this more and more, to bless many people worldwide.”

An Answered Prayer
A local volunteer reported: “In the Solwezi district, Kennedy Kifyembe, 13-years-old, has a little sister, Memory, who is 11-years-old. For a long time, Memory has been praying for a doll, but their parents could not afford to buy one. When she was given a gift box, guess what? A doll was there! The father, mother, Kennedy, and Memory were in tears of joy to see the prayer being answered. He is a God who answers prayer even through a simple shoebox.”
